Solace Power and SkyDock Announce Collaboration to Explore Wireless Charging for Autonomous Drone Operations

July 9, 2026

July 09, 2026: St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador: Solace Power, a Canadian deep-tech company specializing in wireless power and data transfer technology, and Denmark-based SkyDock ApS, a pioneer in autonomous drone infrastructure, today announced a collaboration to explore a proof-of-concept wireless charging solution for SkyDock’s autonomous drone docking platform.

The SkyDock platform is designed to enable continuous, autonomous drone operations by allowing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to launch, land, and recharge without human intervention. The platform helps keep drones mission-ready around the clock.

Together, the companies will explore how wireless power transfer can be integrated into the SkyDock platform to eliminate physical charging contacts. The proof-of-concept will evaluate how wireless charging can support more autonomous operations by improving system reliability, reducing maintenance requirements, and enabling dependable charging in challenging environments.

Autonomous systems are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible, but their supporting infrastructure must evolve alongside them,” said Neil Chaulk, CEO of Solace Power. “At Solace, we have spent more than 15 years developing wireless power solutions for applications where traditional connectors become a limitation. We are excited to work with SkyDock to explore how that expertise can help advance autonomous drone infrastructure.

SkyDock is being developed to make autonomous drone operations more reliable, scalable, and less dependent on manual intervention,” said CEO of SkyDock. “Wireless charging has the potential to improve reliability in demanding operating environments, and Solace has built a reputation for solving wireless power challenges where conventional approaches fall short. We are excited to explore what our two companies can achieve together through the SkyDock platform.

The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to advancing technologies that support more autonomous, resilient operations by reducing maintenance, simplifying infrastructure, and improving reliability in demanding environments.

The announcement comes ahead of the Maritime and Arctic Security and Safety (MASS) Conference, hosted by the Atlantic Canada Aerospace and Defence Association (ACADA), taking place from July 13 -16 in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. The event is a forum focused on northern and maritime security challenges and opportunities, and Solace will be exhibiting its dual-use wireless power and data technologies for autonomous, aerospace and defence systems.
