FCC-certified through-glass wireless power module enables self-installable outdoor 5G equipment, with customer deliveries beginning in Q4 2026
Mount Pearl, NL - October 6, 2026: Solace Power Inc. (Solace), a Canadian deep tech company specializing in wireless power and data transfer technology, today announced that Nova, its FCC-certified through-glass wireless power module, has entered high-volume production and is now available for customer orders. Solace is providing integration support immediately, with customer deliveries beginning in Q4 2026.
Outdoor fixed wireless access (FWA) equipment can receive a stronger 5G signal than equipment placed inside a home. Traditionally, however, installing outdoor equipment has required a technician to drill through an exterior wall or route a cable through a window.
As a result, operators have traditionally faced a trade-off between the performance of outdoor equipment and the simplicity of self-installed indoor devices.
Nova gives customer premises equipment (CPE) manufacturers a way to design outdoor units that customers can install themselves. By transferring power through glass, the module enables a cleaner installation path: the power source stays indoors while the 5G receiver sits outside.
“Nova’s move from technical validation to an FCC-certified module in high-volume production gives manufacturers a clear path to developing self-installable outdoor 5G products,” said Neil Chaulk, CEO of Solace. “We have spent years solving the challenges of delivering enough power through different types of windows to run outdoor 5G equipment. Manufacturers can now order Nova, and we are ready to support them with product integration.”
Nova is designed to work across a broad range of single-, double- and triple-pane windows. Its tolerance for misalignment between indoor and outdoor units supports easier self-installation and helps reduce setup complexity for customers.
For telecom operators, self-installable outdoor CPE can expand the serviceable market for households where indoor signal conditions are limiting. It can also reduce reliance on professional installation and shorten the time between order and activation.
“Putting the receiver outdoors can help operators serve more households with the network and spectrum resources they already have,” said Colin Ryan, COO and CFO of Solace. “If customers can install the equipment themselves, operators have a strong opportunity to lower deployment costs, activate service sooner and improve returns on existing network investments.”
Beyond fixed wireless access, Nova can also be integrated into smart-home and other connected products that require power through glass.
Nova has also been nominated a finalist for Network-X Awards FWA Solution of the Year Award for the second consecutive year.
Solace will demonstrate Nova integrated into a soon-to-be-commercialized, self-installable outdoor CPE at Network-X 2026 in Vienna from October 13 to 15. Visitors can see the system operating at Booth D43 and speak with the team about integration requirements, ordering and delivery schedules.
