The Role:

We are seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager with a passion for innovative technology and a proven ability to navigate complex organizations. Focused on the aerospace and defense sector, you will be instrumental in driving key accounts to contract award stages and establishing Solace as a preferred partner in the industry.

Your Day-to-Day at Solace Power:
  • Build a robust pipeline of opportunities within the aerospace and defense sector.
  • Strategically work across target accounts, partner organizations, and government entities to progress opportunities through the sales funnel.
  • Identify and pursue key accounts in the industry.
  • Attend trade shows and events to network with target accounts and enhance industry presence.
  • Act as the main point of contact for customers during proof-of-concept trials and field implementations.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to align Solace solutions with customer requirements.
  • Stay updated on ITB (Industrial and Technological Benefits) policies, ensuring opportunities to align with compliance and funding programs.
  • Use HubSpot CRM to track and manage sales activities.
  • Report to the VP of Sales & Marketing and collaborate with internal teams, including Technology and Marketing, to address customer expectations.
Must-Have Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in business development or sales, preferably within aerospace or defense sectors.
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude or relevant education.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with a focus on creating long-term, win-win partnerships.
  • Experience working with government programs, such as the Government of Canada, ITB policy, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in using CRM tools, preferably HubSpot, for sales tracking and management.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable business solutions.
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally.
